I found this white blouse in the thrift shop some time ago and I wanted to make something on it. I was looking op Pinterest and saw some blouses with very nice one line illustrations. So, I wanted to give my own spin on that. I thought about something with flowers and one of my favourite flowers are tulips. (very dutch of me) So, I started drawing.

I just took a picture of a blouse from the internet and made my drawing on that. I thought something symmetrical would look nice on this blouse. I also decided that red would be a nice colour on white.

Then, with a washable pen, I began to draw the illustration on the blouse. And because I wanted it to be symmetrical, I needed to really look if I put both of them at the same place.

Now it’s time for the sewing! I wanted the lines to be a bit thicker than normal sewing thread. So, I used embroidery thread in between the normal thread. First I made something for the embroidery thread to go through, so the ball could stay on top of my sewing machine and out of the way. I cut of a piece of a pen cap for that, but you can also use something like a straw.
Then when that is installed you need to make sure that the embroidery thread is right in the middle of the sewing foot. Because you are going to zigzag over that.

This is how it would look. And with this, you can do a lot. So I think i’m going to experiment some more with this in the future. But right now, I’m very pleased with the end results.
